Our People
The staff, committee and parents all work together at Maytree.
Our staff are all dedicated, long-standing and professionally qualified. All of our staff hold appropriate Early Years qualifications and are DBS checked in accordance with Ofsted requirements.
They work tirelessly to organise activities, experiences and outings for the children and to provide a fun, stimulating educational environment. The children adore them and the feeling is mutual!
Staff ratios are 1:8 for three year olds (and 1:4 for under threes) although are often higher.

We maintain a high ratio of qualified adults to children which allows for our Key Person system. Each child is allocated a Key Person who ensures an easy transition into Pre-school and attends to their well-being, educational and developmental needs throughout their time here. The Key Person will undertake regular observations and monitor each child's progress, allowing them to tailor activities to suit their needs. A child’s Key Person is available for you to talk to at any time.
All staff are encouraged to attend a variety of training opportunities and our membership of the Pre-school Learning Alliance ensures we are constantly up to date with new ideas and developments. We receive training, advice and support from the Early Years Advisory team and we contribute to overall planning of provision of education and care through the Foundation Stage Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership.
